Meet the Artist
Doug Cherney is originally from the Land of 10,000 Lakes of Minnesota and currently resides in Northern Georgia
where the mountains and lakes provide inspiration for many of his paintings. Doug is a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps where he experienced the beauty of many countries in the Far East and across the United States.
Doug's art represents the beauty, peace and serenity he experienced throughout the many places he lived and experienced. Doug started painting in 2019 as a challenge from his lovely wife who realized her husband needed a hobby. After one hour he painted a Longhorn sitting across the fence from his property and realized that he had some unknown ability and desire to create art.
Doug is also involved in many charities to help disabled veterans and non-veterans to experience the peace and tranquility of the outdoors and assist them in discovering their new normal. Many proceeds from his paintings go to these charities.
